An annual event in East Anglia’s art scene, the artworks exhibition in 2017, our 18th Anniversary, will be open for three weeks from 9 September to 1 October 2017.

This video showcases the 2012 exhibition.

This is a great opportunity to see new and original contemporary work by some of East Anglia’s established and well-known artists. All the work will be for sale. There will be daily opportunities to meet the artists at the exhibition.

The Teenage Cancer Trust has been chosen as this year’s charity to benefit from the Mini Artworks Prize Draw, along with the Artworks Schools Programme. Thirty original pieces of art created by Artworks artists will be on show during the main exhibition and Prize Draw tickets will cost £2 each.

We also have the Artworks Shop selling original prints, drawings, paintings, ceramics and glassworks, and a large selection of greetings cards and artists postcards.

The setting for the exhibition is the spectacular late medieval Blackthorpe Barn. Part of the Rougham Estate, it was built in c.1550 as a threshing barn on lands that formerly belonged to the Benedictine abbey at Bury St. Edmunds. It remained in use as such until 1985 when it received a new lease of life as an arts centre.

Coffee, tea, soft drinks and homemade cakes are available in the new Artworks café throughout the exhibition.

Every year over 2,000 people visit the Artworks annual exhibition. Here are just a few of their comments:
