Quotes
Since cellist Oleg Kogan started the Razumovsky Ensemble in 1998, inviting close colleagues to join him for chamber music recitals, the idea has burgeoned. There's now a Razumovsky Trust that sponsors outstanding young musicians, and a Razumovsky Academy that offers specialist coaching. A lunchtime concert at the Wigmore Hall was the first showcase for the talents that have been nurtured by the fledgling academy. The same evening, some of those who teach there - all soloists and leading orchestral players in their own right - joined forces for a typical Razumovsky programme of Mozart and Schoenberg.

Born in 1990 in Korea, Ha-Young began her musical studies by learning piano and violin at the age of three. It wasn't until she was eleven that she began to study the bass, an instrument for which she believes to have been destined. For her the bass is not simply her instrument but rather, and in her own words, her "life partner".
Her list of national and international competition successes is considerable and includes the Grand-Prix of the Central Music School International String Competition 2006 in Moscow, 'The Best Interpretation of Virtuoso Player' prize in the J. M. Sperger International Double-Bass Competition 2006 in Germany, Prizewinner of Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artist Competition 2006 in UK and First Prize winner of the young bassist division of the International Society of Bassist's Double-Bass Competition, 2007 in America.
In addition to her competition successes Ha-Young has been awarded several scholarships and prizes including the Solti foundation's Musician of the year 2006 in Belgium, YTN's Global Korean Award in Korea and the Kumho Asiana Airline Young Talanted Musicians Award in Korea.

She participates in national and international music courses in London, Norway and Estonia.
Ha-Young's tutor, Rinat Ibragimov, has said, "Although she has a lot of performing opportunities and wins competitions regularly, she stays very sociable and is very much liked by her peers". He continues, "Ha-Young is an active chamber musician and section leader. I consider her to be one of the best musicians of her generation". Cellist Ioan Davies described her playing as 'Electrifying' and said it would go down in history.
Ha-Young has accepted a place with full scholarship at the Royal College of Music in September 2007 (Undergraduate studies). She studied previously with Chang-Hyoung Lee (principal bass player of the Korean Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra) in Korea and is currently a pupil of Rinat Ibragimov (principal bass player of the London Symphony Orchestra) in Great Britain.
In 2006 Ha Young Jung become a Founding Member of the Razumovsky Academy. She regularly takes part in Razumovsky events in London’s Wigmore Hall and other venues as well as Razumovsky Festivals in Britain and abroad.
