In addition to the fantastic decorations and lighting shop, and the 100% British crafts from the weekend after, this year visitors to the Barn will be able to see a magnificent and specially commissioned illusionistic wall painting by Catriona Penny.
Catriona is a highly respected artist who has worked on many films sets such as Prince Caspian, the soon to be released Alice in Wonderland, and the new Hobbit film due to start filming in February next year. The painting will be a total one-off piece with exact details remaining secret until 7th November.
Owner of Blackthorpe Barn, George Agnew adds, “We can’t wait to open the doors again this year starting with the decorations and lighting shop and the unveiling of the masterpiece created by Catriona, it really is something special for this area and we are so lucky to be able to benefit from her creativity. And, with the start of the crafts event the weekend after, our 200 year old sleigh and the reindeers visiting on 6th and 13th December, it is going to be a fantastic event that we hope will ignite the Christmas spirit in everyone.”
Blackthorpe Barn is situated in the heart of Suffolk just outside Bury St. Edmunds, it couldn’t be easier to find; just off the A14 at junction 45 (Sat Nav IP30 9JG).
