Stay safe whilst buying your tree
Buying a Christmas tree outside is a safer type of activity because of all the fresh air and space. There are however extra things that we have done at Blackthorpe Barn to make it even safer.
One way system
We have designed a new one-way system around the tree sales area. This one-way system is clearly signed. Just follow the arrows.
Cashless payment prefered
To reduce the risks inherent in handling cash during the pandemic, we would prefer card payment where possible. We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express. A Perspex panel will protect staff and customers from each other and hand sanitiser will be available. Purchases can be made contactless up to £100.
Wear a pair of strong gloves
In normal years we recommend the wearing of a pair of strong gloves when handling Christmas trees as they can be wet and prickly. This year, however, in addition, they will stop you touching trees yourself and also protects you from trees touched by others.
There will be hand sanitiser points around the tree selling space. Family members without gloves should sanitise regularly.
Transporting trees to cars
As usual, we are happy to help carry trees to customers’ cars if there is sufficient time available. This may not be possible at busy moments. Please note however that we cannot help to load the car. This is to protect the safety of our own staff and customers. Where pot grown trees are involved we provide trolleys for use by customers in the tree pick up car park only. Please sanitise the handles with the sanitiser and wipes provided and return the trolley to where you found it.
