Klair Bauly studied woven textiles in the 70’s at Farnham Art College in Surrey. Following a career in textiles she moved the realms of colour and texture into garden design and the garden she created from bare earth has featured with the National Gardens Scheme, raising funds for charity. Following on from this, she then felt the need for a different kind of blank canvas and turned to painting. She produces one-off original pieces of artwork, working intuitively even combining elements of nature within the work. She likes to express a sense of calm and peace, taking the observer on a journey to a deeper meditative place.
Currently horizons are of particular interest to me, inquiring into the infinite and yet non existent space where sky and land meet. Colour and texture play a fundamental role, often with inspiration from the wonderful Suffolk countryside.
