Textiles: Felted and woven work by Kris Marriott

Having worked with sheep and used their fleece for spinning, becoming a felt maker seemed the obvious next step. I love that you can make anything with fibres, from sculptured pieces to clothing. My inspirations come from the colourful life that I have led, a love of nature, clothes and interior designs.

Wool from some British sheep breeds is close to my heart. Shetland, Blue Faced Leicester and Jacob are excellent for felt making and provide soft tops in a lovely range of natural colours.

I enjoy using vintage buttons and found objects to decorate my designs, and I also make bags, slippers and a variety of other designs as shown in my gallery.

I am a member of the International Felt Makers Association (I.F.A)
