Art: Greetings cards, art and handmade woolly animals

Norfolk based, Penny Lindop has a background in archaeology which took her to some unusual places, both in geography and in time. Her passion for textiles and fibres comes from these days as an archaeologist when she studied ancient textile technology in Europe.

Many of her current designs incorporate both natural and dyed sheep’s wool. Many of the natural fleeces are from some of Britain’s rare and minority breeds of sheep – again, a reflection on her archaeological background.

Her range of designs is now very extensive – far more than just a few simple sheep that started the ball rolling. She regularly exhibits at shows across the country and her work can be found in many retail outlets throughout the UK and overseas.
