Textiles: Unique, handwoven cushions, scarves and pictures
Katie Green is a weaver and artist working from her garden studio in Long Melford working on Kromski rigid heddle looms.
She was originally trained in commercial Surface Pattern Design and specialised in weave and print. After many years of being away from a weaving loom, she is now very lucky to own two and for the last seven years, she has been making beautiful, unique works of art. Her cushions are all inspired by the beautiful Suffolk coastline and English landscape, individually made with only the finest yarns such as Alpaca, British wool and beautiful handspun yarn. She is passionate about her work and it’s development and work to meet current interior trends, aiming to make classic pieces that will last a lifetime both in quality and design. Her artwork is both influenced by and influences her weaving. She draws inspiration from folklore, songs, myths and legends, each piece featuring a hare somewhere that reflects her lifelong obsession with hares and all things rabbity.
