Access to Blackthorpe Barn from A14
Blackthorpe Barn is situated just off Junction 45 of the A14, three miles east of Bury St Edmunds, in the village of Rougham. Most events are clearly signed by the AA, from the main A14 road. In addition, the Blackthorpe Barn’s own black and white signs direct visitors from local roads.
If using a sat nav, use the postcode IP30 9HZ for the Barn; look out for the entrance gate to Blackthorpe Barn and follow the tree-lined avenue until you see the thatched building on your right.
(The actual delivery postcode for the Barn is IP30 9JG, but this will take you beyond the entrance drive and there is no parking at that postcode.)
We have ample space to park 380 cars on a hard surface and within easy walking distance of the barn. During the Arts & Crafts events and for those in 4x4s have the option to park on the field nearby. There is a separate car park for those who wish to load their car with their purchased Christmas tree.
A detailed ground plan of the Blackthorpe Barn buildings and parking is available. We are in a rural location, so please consider wearing suitable footwear for the current weather; some paths can get muddy if it’s been wet.
Blackthorpe Barn is an ancient building in a rural location, with many uneven floors, so please take great care, both inside and out.
The Barn is fully accessible to wheelchair users and guide dogs are welcome.
We offer full toilet facilities including a disabled toilet and two baby changing tables.
Sorry, we don’t allow dogs (other than guide dogs) within the barn but dogs are welcome in the courtyard. On weekdays, dogs on leads are welcome in the Roots Café.

Refreshments are available for certain events; please see the information about each event for details. See the Roots Café page to find out when that is open.
