Meadow Play Area
CLOSED UNTIL 2023
The Meadow Play Area is a new addition to Blackthorpe Barn, bringing some of the fun of the sunflowers and pumpkins to the Barn.
There’s plenty of space to run around and play in the meadow, with a huge straw bale pyramid to climb and jump around on and a sand-pit for younger children.
Picnic tables are available for you to sit at and enjoy the countryside with coffee, cakes, mulled wine and freshly-made home-cooked food from the Courtyard Café, while your children run off some steam.
The beautiful Forest Floor tree trunk sculpture is also in the meadow and is fascinating to look at, and if you’d like to take a wander around the estate, we have three walks of different lengths to enjoy (you don’t need to bring a dog!).
What else is on?
The Country Christmas Shop is open daily from late October to just before Christmas and, at the weekends in November and December, Arts & Crafts showcases some of the best craftsmanship from around the country (a small entrance charge is asked for Arts & Crafts, to help with the upkeep of the medieval barn).
Free Entry
Parking is free, use of the meadow play area is free and the walks are free too, so come and enjoy Rougham Estate and Blackthorpe Barn.
The Meadow Play Area opens at 9:30am and closes at 5pm, according to the shop opening times.
Children must be supervised at all times.
